COVID-19 Updates to USGA Events

The USGA has decided to retain its August dates for the 120th U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women's Amateur, while canceling its final four amateur events: the U.S. Mid-Am, U.S. Women's Mid-Am, U.S. Senior Am and U.S. Senior Women's Am.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Golf Federation made the decision to cancel the World Amateur Team Championships scheduled for this October in Singapore.

For the first time since they were created in the late 1940s, the two USGA Junior Championships have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The USGA provides some Frequently Asked Questions to players regarding the cancellation of its two Junior Championships.

The 120th U.S. Open, scheduled for June 18-21, has been postponed to Sept. 17-20 at Winged Foot, while the 2020 U.S. Senior Open Championships have been canceled. 

The 75th U.S. Women's Open, scheduled to be contested in early June at Champions Golf Club, in Houston, has now been postponed to Dec. 10-13. Both courses at the 36-hole facility will be used for the first two rounds.

The scheduled three-day competition between the USA and Great Britain and Ireland this June at Conwy Golf Club in Wales has been postponed to 2021.

The opening of entries for four USGA championships -- the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Women's Amateur, U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Girls' Junior -- have been delayed until April 27.

The USGA has canceled the 2020 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship scheduled for Quail Creek Country Club, in Naples, Fla., and the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Philadelphia (Pa.) Cricket Club.

In addition to the two Four-Ball competitions being canceled, the USGA also canceled local qualifying for the 2020 U.S. Open Championship at Winged Foot Golf Club, in Mamaroneck, N.Y., along with qualifying for the 75th U.S. Women's Open at Champions Golf Club, in Houston, Texas, in its current form.

The USGA, along with The R&A, has made special provisions to the Rules of Golf and Rules of Handicapping to allow golfers to still enjoy the game and post scores during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Qualifying for the 2021 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship has been canceled, and the 2020 finals that were scheduled for April 5 will now be contested in 2021 at Augusta (Ga.) National Golf Club.
