Many British golf clubs continued to operate and allow play during World War II. The image here shows a set of temporary Rules that were adopted by the Richmond Golf Club in London to account for various wartime occurrences that might have interrupted a round of golf. The severity and potential implications of the interruptions listed in these seven Rules are astounding and, luckily, similar Rules have not been needed since. However, they accurately show the passion and dedication that this game inspires in golfers around the world.
